1. BPNCS installation and Pickguard shielding The shielding will reduce the high frequency noise and if it is very simple - it will not change the tone. Here is a good example about pickguard shielding: Pickguard
shielding 04
14 2008 2. BPNCS installation - Check Tips Preparation: Connect all wires according to the User's manual and installation instructions. Screw in the Backplate on its place. Put all Volume and Tone controls of the guitar on their MAX position.
Before you place the pickguard on its place please use a multimeter at resistance mode, 20 KOhms range and perform the following measurements on the Adjusting PCB wires: a. Yellow to Red - about 0.35 - 0.4 KOhms. b. Yellow to Green (or Black) - 0 KOhms (short) c.
Green (or Black) - Volume pot housing - 0 KOhms (short) adjust BOTH blue trimpots to their MAX position then measure: d1. Blue to Green (or Black) - about 0 KOhms (short). e1. White to Green (or Black) - about 0 KOhms (short). f1. Orange (or Brown) to Green (or Black) - about 0 KOhms (short). d2. Blue to Green (or Black) - about 0.35 KOhms. e2. White to Green (or Black) - about 0.35 KOhms. f2. Orange (or Brown) to Green (or Black) - about 0.35 KOhms. d3. Blue to Black - about 2.5 KOhms. e3. White to Black - about 2.5 KOhms. f3. Orange (or Brown) to Green (or Black) - about 2.5 KOhms. 3. BPNCS installation using RWRP Middle pickup and one TONE potentiometer Requirements: =The guitar has 3 pretty much same resistance Bridge, Middle and Neck pickups (let say within 1K difference) =The guitar has a standard 5 position pickups selector switch. =The guitar has one Volume, one Tone potentiometer. Notes: Negative: With this wiring, at position 3 you will have the Middle pickup WITHOUT the BPNCS noise canceling. Positive: With this wiring, at position 2 and 4 you will have NOTHING connected to the operating pickups and have a standard (original) noise canceling. With this wiring, at position 1 and 5 you will have a standard BPNCS noise canceling.
Use
the following diagram to wire the guitar:
When
You get all these connections correctly done you can now proceed the final step of
installing the pickguard on place |
